Local Researchers for a Survey on Wildlife Consumption

Description

We are conducting a study on consumers of wildlife products in Vietnam (e.g., tiger bone glue, bear bile, rhino horn). The study is coordinated by the University of Copenhagen in Denmark and supported by the CITES Management Authority, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (https://ifro.ku.dk/english/research/projects/rhino-horn-in-vietnam). The main fieldwork will be in Hanoi and surrounding municipalities.

Successful candidates will work with a team of international researchers during an eight-month period, either full-time or part-time, starting from November 2019. We offer a monthly stipend of 16,000,000 – 23,000,000VND depending on qualifications and the number of interviews conducted. A trial period of one-month will be applied. We will provide theoretical and hands-on training for the selected.

Main responsibilities:

  • Participate in a training on the project background and data collection methods;
  • Develop a data collection plan and conduct interviews with potential respondents.

Required qualifications:

  • Good communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic knowledge of research methods;
  • Experience in surveys, identifying potential respondents and conducting interviews;
  • Experience and/or interest in consumer behaviors, conservation, wildlife;
  • Bachelor’s degree in any relevant field.
