BACKGROUND

Passerelles numériques (PN), a non-profit organisation, is dedicated to enabling the largest number of youths in a precarious situation access to training and qualified employment in Information Technology.

Established in Cambodia, the Philippines and Vietnam, Passerelles numériques currently trains 555 students and aims to train 750 in the next three years. PN employs 96 people based in these three countries including a small team in France.

Passerelles numériques relies on the financial and skills sponsorship of several corporate partners such as Accenture, Econocom-Osiatis, CA Technologies and Microsoft and also receives support from individual donors.

In partnership with the University of Da Nang, PN Vietnam currently trains 90 students and will welcome a new batch of 60 students in September 2015.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Passerelles numériques (PN) is looking for a Vietnamese IT Teacher for its training program in Da Nang. The teacher delivers IT training to first and second year students. S/He joins the training team and participates to the preparation of the material, deliver the content in collaboration with other IT trainers and assess students’ progress. The teacher has the ability and the will to deliver web topics (HTML, CSS, PHP, JSP), advance programming skills (Java struts, Java Swing) and database for developer (MySql, Sql Server). The mission starts by a part time job every afternoon (20hours/week) to evolve to a full time job (40hours/week) in March 2015. The working environment with the team is in English.The teacher should be able to prepare and deliver the material and exams in English for students.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the direct supervision of the Training Manager, the IT teacher is in charge of the delivery and the quality training through the following tasks:
• Teach from 6 to 7.5 hours per week to different PNV classes (x2 for full time).
• Work in alignment with IT syllabus, PN teaching and educating spirit.
• Prepare, compile and adjust training material in accord with students learning and practicing approach.
• Mark periodic tests and complete soft files of results for record.
• Monitor the performance of in-charge students and report to the Training manager about their progress.
• Participate to the student Education.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential requirements:

• Have at least a BA degree in IT with good G.P.A or one with fairly good G.P.A;
• Have at least a Pre-Intermediate level of English;
• Have at least one year experience of teaching Programming.
• Will of teaching and pedagogy understanding.

Technical skills:

• High level of manipulating Object Oriented Design (Java, PHP)
• Autonomous with J2EE frameworks (Spring, Hibernate, Struts, JSP, Swing);
• Experience developing web-based consumer-facing applications(PHP, HTML, CSS, cakePHP, Drupal)
• Experienced with Database (MS SQL Server, MySQL, SQLite);
• Aware of software development life cycle;
• Awareof team development setting (Agile, Source Code, Bug report,etc.)

“A Plus” skills:

• Professional experience as software developer or IT project participation
• Experience in Software Testing

Other skills:

• Will to learn and progress in a team.
• Strong problem solving skills, concentration, pro-active;
• Good verbal reading and written English communication skill;
• Adaptableand flexible in your workorganisation and teaching technics.
