Information Management Assistant (IMA)

MAG is a mine action NGO established in England in 1989. MAG has operated in 35 countries and currently working in 16 countries. In Vietnam, MAG started operations in Quang Tri province in 1999 and in Quang Binh in 2003. After many years of successful operations, in May 2012, MAG expanded its programme to the new province of Quang Nam. Currently, we are recruiting the position of Information Management Assistant (IMA).  The IMA ensures that all operational information is collated, accurately recorded, and reported according to the programme data management requirements.

SPECIFIC TASKS

- Enters operational data on a daily basis into the programme database. This includes Technical Operations and Community Liaison components and may be in English or Vietnamese
- Verifies and checks information submitted by operational staff to ensure accurate reporting. Inconsistencies or irregularities are to be reported to senior technical staff in the first instance for clarification
- Ensures that data is entered in a timely basis to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the operational database.
- Prepares monthly reports on a timely basis as required by the line manager.
- Prepares ad-hoc operational reports to support other senior management positions in MAG as requested.
- Accurately file hard copy records in appropriate files
- Undertakes good data management processes including organizing and maintaining electronic files for easy reference and conducting regular backups of programme critical information and data.
- Is familiar with technical terms as used in MAG operations
- This position may have to provide Vietnamese/English Translation duties (and visa versa) from time to time
- May have to work evenings and/or weekends if requested
- Carry out any other duties as requested.

REQUIRED

- Good command of Vietnamese and English;
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team;
- Demonstrated high level computer skills, especially database management
