01 Hotel Manager for Villa Hue  (One-year assignment, renewable)

Luxembourg Development, the Executing Agency for Bilateral Co-operation financed by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, assists the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) to implement the project. VIE/031  “Strengthening of Human Resources in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry in Vietnam” which has a duration of 4 years.

Villa Hue as a practical training facility for students of Hue Tourism College, originally 12 rooms, is currently under expansion for an extra 21 rooms expected to have soft opening by mid 2014. The expansion aims to: (i) facilitate possibilities of training for more students,  (ii) be able to achieve higher occupancy and a higher room rate yield for profitability and sustainability, and (iii) become the “Centre of Best Practice” for the other hotel/tourism schools.

Lux-Development is looking for a candidate to fill the following position:

01 HOTEL MANAGER for Villa Hue

Key responsibilities:

• Responsible for the effective operational management and customer services of Villa Hue
• Assist the International F&B TA for the Villa Hue Operation and Soft opening;
• Promoting and marketing the business,
• Setting and achieving sales and profit targets;
• Manage hotel budgets and revenues, cost control 
• Dealing with contractors and suppliers;
• Ensure the inventory of all supplies and equipment maintained and updated;
• Manage effectively the human resources of Villa Hue.
• Training and monitoring staff as part of the educational requirement
• Coordinate with Hue Tourism School to set up a linkage for students to practise in Villa Hue.
• Develop training program, lesson plans for Hotel manager training for other beneficiary schools within the framework of the project.

Minimum requirements:

• A degree or diploma in Hotel Management or equivalent,
• Minimum 5 years experience in hotel management, hotel operations, or Food and Beverage, or Rooms Management, kitchen and banquet,
• Experience in managing budgets, revenue and forecasting results is an advantage,
• Experience in the development of marketing and industry liaison initiatives
• Able to meet the time schedule proposed
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and guide staff.
• The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of five star grooming standards.
• The flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
