DESCRIPTION   

Effective with the release of this position announcement, Winrock International is recruiting applicants for the position of Gender Advisor for an upcoming USAID funded project supporting small and medium enterprises in Vietnam.

Winrock is seeking experts to design and provide technical leadership to activities that will support small and medium size enterprises (SME) in accessing and competing in domestic, regional, and international markets. Through its market-driven interventions the project will spur on and off-farm employment opportunities and incentivize investment in business service provision and market infrastructure. For all positions, preference is given to those with previous private sector experience and advanced degrees. All positions require fluency in English and local and/or regional experience. All positions are contingent upon Winrock International winning the award.

Position Description:

The Gender Advisor will develop and implement the Gender Assessment. They will also oversee integration of gender equality in all project activities, particularly conducting analysis to identify opportunities for maximizing women’s participation in target sectors. They will review and provide input to work plans, technical reports, and other deliverables to ensure gender integration. They will work with the Collaboration, Learning, and Adaptation team to design and implement gender-related learning activities to assess intended and unintended impacts project interventions have on women. They will analyze project results and data to assess impacts on women. Lastly, they will build capacity of project staff, partners, and grantees on gender-sensitive programming and implementation

Minimum Experience Required:

  • At least 8 years of experience in designing gender-sensitive activities for development projects
  • Familiarity with USAID gender policy desired
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with fluency in English required 
  • Vietnam or regional experience preferred.
