The Opportunity |?GEDSI Coordinator

The goal of Aus4Skills is to support Vietnam to access and use high level professional and  technical knowledge, skills and competencies, to contribute to the country’s sustainable economic and inclusive development. The program also aims to deepen Vietnamese and Australian people-to-people and institutional links and therefore strengthen the partnership between the two countries.  

The Gender Equality, Disability and Social Inclusion Coordinator provides coordination support for the planning, delivery and monitoring and evaluation of GEDSI dedicated activities – including women in leadership and safeguarding, such as preventing sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment and child protection - and for the mainstreaming of GEDSI considerations into program activities more broadly.

  • Joint a program making a difference in Vietnam’s economic development
  • Located in Hanoi, with occasional regional travel
  • Full-time position until December 2025, with the possibility of extension

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementing and monitoring of Aus4Skills GEDSI strategy and plan, ensuring that all program activities holistically integrate GEDSI principles.  
  • Support component teams with identifying, integrating and improving their GEDSI approaches within their activities, in accordance with the Aus4Skills GEDSI strategy and plan.  
  • Provide coordination input with the design and implementation of GEDSI specific and GEDSI mainstreaming activities across the components  

About You

The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in relevant disciplines of GEDSI as well as relevant knowledge and experience in GEDSI program implementation across sectors. We seek a self-driven, highly motivated individual with the ability to prioritise and complete simultaneous projects with strong interpersonal, relationship and communication skills.

Selection Criteria

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field of study such as gender and disability studies, social sciences, social work, human rights and/or development studies, or related fields

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in gender mainstreaming, disability inclusion, support for Indigenous  and  Ethnic  Minority  peoples,  and community  development  planning  and implementation.
  • Experience  engaging  with  the  Party  and  Government  of  Vietnam  agencies,  organisations  of people   with   disability   and/or   gender   and   women’s   organisations   as well as   other   relevant organisations.
  • Working knowledge and/or experience of international development organisations an advantage

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent analytical capabilities and writing and communication skills in English language.
  • Proven understanding of a wide-range of cross-cutting issues - such as gender equality, disability and social inclusion, child protection, preventing sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment, and fraud control.
  • Experience  and/or  knowledge  of  monitoring  and  evaluation,  including  disaggregated  data collection and GEDSI analysis.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in Vietnamese and English language

  • Good   inter-personal   and   communication   skills   for   building   and   maintaining   relationships, reporting, delivering messages and identifying and managing issues
  • Good organisational skills and an ability to prioritise and complete simultaneous projects
  • Good problem-solving ability and great attention to detail
