Full-time Program Internship based in Ha Noi

East Meets West (EMW) is one of the largest humanitarian development non-government organizations working in Vietnam for 25 years.

The East Meets West's Breath of Life (BOL) program develops customized, clinical solutions to significantly reduce neonatal mortality and morbidity rate in low resource countries. The program is now being implemented in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, East Timor, Myanmar, Philippines, India, Benin, and Ghana. BOL provides custom-designed, low-cost equipment to hospitals, and targeted training to medical personnel, to save the lives of infants suffering from common newborn pathologies. To ensure sustainability, BOL works to strengthen linkages with local health authorities to involve them in integrating these technologies into the larger health system.

In response of program development, we are currently looking for 02 qualified candidates to support the communication activities of BOL and MTTS (a social enterprise part of the BOL Program), including, but not limiting to, website, social media, press releases, publications, events. The selected candidates will work under supervision of the Communication Manager and potentially be promoted to Program Assistant according to their performance. The internship is intended to give first-hand experience to young and bright University graduate, so to support their professional development and future career chances. It is also a way for EMW to screen candidates for its full time positions in the program. While there is no assurance of a full time position at the end of the internship, this possibility is likely upon satisfactory internship period.

TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Main Duties/Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

1. Support Communication staff in designing the new website of MTTS;
2. Develop and update all social media of the company and the Program;
3. Support Communication staff in organizing, managing, and updating a database of important documents for the company and the program;
4. Support Communication staff in preparing information materials about the Program and the company;
5. Develop and create different tools for promotion of Program activity;
6. Provide English/Vietnamese translation and interpretation when needed;
6. Provide daily support to other office work.

Desired qualifications and attributes:

+ A bachelor’s degree. Communication-related background is preferable.
+ Previous professional experience as a volunteer or full-time staff in NGOs/community development/health research programs is desirable
+ Excellent in both written and spoken English
+ Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation and presentation skills
+ Competence in MS Windows programs, word processing, Excel, etc. Competence in Adobe Creative Suite, social networks is an asset.

The internship will last 6 months, and the intern will receive an internship monetary allowance according to the standards of the employer.
