Finance and Administrative Assistant

The ILO Country Office for Vietnam invites applications from Vietnamese nationals for the positions below:

Finance and Administrative Assistant (GS-6)

The fishing and seafood processing sectors in major producing countries in South East Asia are likely to grow in the incoming years. In addition, labour migration will continue and likely grow. In this context, it is important to strengthen migration governance, and respond to the characteristics of the fishing and seafood processing sectors, particularly concerning migrant fishers.

The Ship to Shore Rights (South East Asia) regional programme on labour migration in the fishing sector will address this need. It will build on the achievements of the EU-funded Ship to Shore Rights project implemented by the ILO, and it will work in Myanmar, Cambodia, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Viet Nam, Philippines and Indonesia.

The overall objective of the project is to promote regular and safe labour migration among South East Asian Countries, in particular in the fishing and seafood processing industry. It will work in close cooperation with governments and social partners, to promote gender-responsive labour migration laws, policies, practices and services that address the characteristics of working in fishing and seafood processing sectors. It will support the organization and representation of migrant workers in these sectors, including in the protection of fundamental principles and rights at work. It will address the legal, policy and institutional barriers faced by migrant workers in these sectors, including gaps in the protection of fundamental principles and rights at work. It will enhance migrant workers’ access to safe, orderly and regular migration by addressing exploitation, forced labour and trafficking.

ILO Viet Nam is looking for a Finance and Administrative Assistant (AFA) for the Viet Nam-based component of this regional programme. The Finance and Administrative Assistant (G5) is responsible for providing administrative and financial support to the SEA Fisheries Project and will report to the National Project Coordinator.
