ENGLISH as SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL) TEACHER
NATIVE and VIETNAMESE

The Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation (Lux-Development) is looking for an ESL Native/Vietnamese Teacher on behalf of Project VIE/034 receiving financial support from the Governments of Viet Nam and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Project VIE/034 is the second phase of a Luxembourg development cooperation, support of the Bac Kan Vocational College (BKVC). The intention of this new project is, firstly to improve he BKVC ’s management, thereby also enhancing the financial robustness through its income-generating potential and, secondly, to offer a market- as well as client-oriented educational programme. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Attend coaching and training in terms of ESL teaching provided by the project;
• Prepare, deliver lessons, record and assess learners’ progress; Communicative and learner-centered are the main approaches;
• Support, tutor slow learners after teaching hours;
• Develop, organize and take part in relevant activities (training, English club, extra curriculum activities, etc. to enhance learners’ English language communication competence); and
• Perform other tasks related to ESL teaching and learning as required.

REQUIREMENTS

1. For native teacher:

• B.A in TESOL (or equivalent with a CELTA, TESOL, TEFL);
• At least 2 years experience in teaching English;
• Having experiences with designing ESL learning activities, extra-curriculum, handouts/materials under CLT approach/method;
• Having good facilitation skills and good verbal and written communication in English.

2. For Vietnamese teacher:

• B.A in TESOL (M.A TESOL is strongly preferred);
• At least 2 – 3 years experience in teaching English;
• Having experiences with designing ESL learning activities, extra-curriculum, handouts/materials under CLT approach/method;
• Previous work with ODA supported projects supporting national and international staff/experts in English language translations, interpretation and teaching is an advantage.
• Having good facilitation skills and good verbal and written communication in both English and Vietnamese.

EMPLOYMENT PERIOD: The start of the contract is foreseen from June 2019 and for a performance period of:

Option 1: 6 months, renewable.
Option 2: 12 months, renewable.
