We are looking for Vietnamese national for:

  • Vacancy: Disaster Risks Reduction Project Manager
  • Based in Ho Chi Minh City

Main Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for overall project planning, implementation and management of the SCK-funded DRR Project in Ca Mau province. The post holder is expected to contribute to our emergency response, in the event of any disaster in Vietnam, by providing an interim management support for any specific project or activities as designated DRR&ER Program Manager.

In the event of a major emergency response, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Key Competencies:

Essentials

  • At least bachelor’s degree relevant to DRR&ER and training in project management
  • Have at least 3 years of experience in project management, particularly in DRR-ER sector.
  • Experience in the implementation of DRR or Emergency Response project funded by institutional donors.
  • Experience in WASH and/or solid waste management.
  • Good understanding of WASH challenges in Mekong Delta is desirable.
  • Demonstrated capacity in project planning, implementation and management covering the preparation of annual work plan, budgeting and procurement.
  • Experience working with government counterparts and the community with proven results. 
  • Solid understanding of the Vietnamese government system at provincial, district and commune levels.
  • Strong leadership skills, good communication skills and team work, analytical skills and problem solving.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and can stay in the field for extended period of time.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Good computer skills: MS Office required.
  • Willingness to abide by SCI Child Protection Policy/Child Safe Guarding and Code of Conduct.

Desirables

  • Prior experience working with Save the Children and familiarity to organization’s policies and procedures will be an advantage.
