Hoa Sen University (HSU) is located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City – a dynamic center of Vietnam and the Southeast Asia region.  Founded in 1991, HSU was among the first institutions in Vietnam to recognize and focus on the unique educational needs of a developing society and built a reputation for excellence in vocational and technical education.  In 2006, HSU officially became a private university extending its educational offerings to include four-year Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs.

Since its inception, HSU has been committed to quality training to meet the practical needs of business and society. The University currently has four faculties: Economics and Commerce, Science and Technology, Linguistics and Cultural Studies, and Polytechnics.  HSU offers academic programs at all levels (technical/vocational, postsecondary, undergraduate and postgraduate) with more than 7,000 students at three main educational facilities and many satellite branches providing professional training in information technology.

Position Description and Duties:
You are responsible for providing leadership to staff within your department and help to maintain an environment of high-quality service and performance.  You will develop long-range plans and implement short-range goals to further develop your department. In this role, you will also encourage cross-cultural awareness and understanding and help develop cultural sensitivity within your department. Duties will include the following:
- Plan and implement all activities related to supporting students.
- Supports student rights and responsibilities.
- Fosters understanding and collaborative efforts within the larger HSU community (students, parents, University staff/faculty, etc.)
- Develop and maintain relationships with domestic and foreign enterprises to support student career development.
- Responsible for performance and development of your team.
Candidate Profile:
The successful candidate must possess teaching and/or management experience in an academic setting, preferably at the university level or equivalent, with demonstrated organizational, time management, people management, fiscal management and administrative skills. You will be able to effectively lead and manage academic and/or administrative staff in a multicultural or international working environment. With a proven record of planning and management success, you will be able to motivate staff through effective leadership, coaching and mentoring, development, evaluation and rewards. You will possess strong facilitation skills and have the ability to listen and learn from diverse perspectives. You will also be an action-oriented, entrepreneurial person who is a self-starter, works independently but can also be an active team player.
You must have advanced communication skills in English with some Vietnamese language skills. You are a proven critical and analytical thinker with sound, mature judgment and integrity. Your personal qualities would include humility, ability to self-reflect and a good sense of humor. You must meet minimum qualifications: Possession of at least a Master Degree in Business/Education/Teaching/Training/ Psychology or equivalent; Required at least 5 years of working experience in fields related to this position and must be committed to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration. A local Vietnamese with overseas experience or an overseas Vietnamese candidate is preferred.
