Want to make a positive difference to the future of people and our one shared home - the Earth? Working at WWF could be your opportunity of a lifetime.

All around the world, people are waking up to the deepening crisis of nature loss. A growing realization that nature is our life-support system. And that nobody will be spared from the impacts of its loss. Here at WWF, we are helping to tackle this enormous global challenge.

Our people come from hugely diverse backgrounds and with a variety of expertise, ranging from HR and Finance to Advocacy and Conservation science. We welcome applications from anyone who believes they can help us create a better future for people and wildlife.

What we do

We are an independent conservation organization, striving to sustain the natural world for the benefit of people and wildlife. From individuals and communities to business and government, we are part of a growing coalition calling on world leaders to set nature on the path to recovery by 2030. Together, we seek to protect and restore natural habitats, stop the mass extinction of wildlife, and make the way we produce and consume sustainably.

WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Viet Nam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environmental issues and implemented field activities across the country. WWF recognizes that its employees are its most important asset. A competent workforce, thoroughly trained, properly motivated, and bound together by mutual trust and common objectives is crucial to the success of WWF. WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Viet Nam.

WWF seeks an exceptional individual with previous experience as a DCOP, or at least senior-level management in large and complex forest, conservation, or environment-related projects and programs in Viet Nam. You will have extensive experience and a deep understanding of Viet Nam government systems and processes, especially in the forest and environment/biodiversity conservation sectors. You have a proven track record of success in working closely with government at all levels as a highly skilled negotiator, facilitator, and people manager.

This is a special opportunity for a highly experienced, confident, and motivated professional to join a team of nearly 100 who are working hard to raise the standard of management effectiveness in 21 protected areas in the globally important Central Annamites of Viet Nam. You will lead the overall functional management of project activities, with special attention on the ODA component to ensure strict compliance with government and donor requirements.

This position is open to Vietnamese candidates, male or female.

Vietnam is recognized as one of the world’s most biodiverse countries. However, decades of illegal logging, wildlife poaching and trade and agricultural expansion, have led to losses of natural forests and wildlife, and several species are on the brink of extinction. To secure the remaining intact forests and wildlife populations in Vietnam, we need new approaches to address those problems in Special-use Forests (SUF) and Protection Forests (PF) - the backbone of Vietnam’s protected forest system.

The USAID Biodiversity Conservation Activity (BCA) is a 5-year project, started in 2020, and aims to maintain and increase forest quality, and protect and stabilize wildlife populations in five high conservation value provinces (Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, TT Hue, and Lam Dong), plus Vu Quang and Cuc Phuong National Parks – in total, 21 protected areas are supported. USAID BCA is the single largest ever investment in biodiversity conservation in Vietnam.
