1. Background of consultancy assignment/ project

WWF was one of the first International non-government organizations working in Vietnam. In 1985, WWF began working on a national conservation strategy and since then has worked closely with the Vietnamese Government on a diverse range of environment issues and implemented field activities across the country.

Aquaculture is one of the priorities which WWF Vietnam contributes the intervention for more sustainable production. Aquaculture makes valuable contributions to local livelihoods and jobs for local people – from subsistence farmers practicing aquaculture to more specialized commercial enterprises operated by small households through to larger integrated multinational companies.

To help protect the environment and maintain conservation values as well as to promote the sustainable development of the Mekong Delta, WWF Vietnam has set specific targets for promoting responsible farming practices through sustainable certification and Better Management Practices (BMP) and Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) certification.

In 2018, ASC has just launched new ASC Mulitiple Site requirements that applying for farmer groups.This helps farmer groups can be apply and forward to ASC group certification.

One of the important requirements of ASC Multiple site requirements are to have a study conducted on determine the flood high peak in 25 years meet for each of farms in farmer groups. To support for the Hoa Nghia and Nong Ngu 14/10 coopertives applying ASC Multiple Site in Soc Trang, it is necessary to determine the flood high peak in 25 years according to ASC Multiple Site. To fulfill these activities, WWF Vietnam is seeking a consultancy team to take on the duties and tasks as outlined below.

2. Objective of the consultancy

The aim of this service is to carry full research on “Updating report on determine the flood high peak in 25 years meet requirements of ASC Multipe Site” in order to identify and ensure farms’ conditions matching with ASC requirements to be ASC audited by independent certifying bodies.

3. Proposal required

Profile, financial proposals and CVs of consultancy service must be required to be signed and stamped;

Certifications/degrees of consultant team related to fields as ToR required (copy examples);
