CONSULTANT FOR PROPOSAL WRITING

Aide et Action International (AEAI) is an international NGO, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland.  AEA International began its programs in 1981 and is now working in 19 countries across Africa, Europe, South Asia, Southeast Asia and China to support the development of sustainable education projects with our belief in the universal right to a quality education. Each AEAI intervention is based around this ethos.

AEA has been working in Vietnam since 2003. Our approaches focus on early childcare education, access to quality education, and inclusive education for children of ethnic minorities while planning to venture further into livelihoods education and education for girls and women. Over 15 years of experiences along with local communities, partner organizations, and local authorities, we have implemented a number of projects in various locations where poor and disadvantaged groups live.

We are currently seeking for a dynamic and enthusiastic candidate to fill the full-time position of  Consultant for Proposal Writing at AEA Vietnam office in Hanoi.

The Proposal Writing Consultant will work directly with the Country Director and Project Managers to ensure good quality proposals to target funders in a timely and organized fashion.

The consultant is able to work effectively under pressure, use independent judgment and produce a quality of work product under tight timelines. Previous experience will demonstrate a proven track record of identifying and securing new funding opportunities. This role calls for the English native speakers.

RESPONSIBILITIES include:

• Take a lead in proposal development in collaboration with the Project Managers, including adhering to proposal schedule deadlines and ensuring that other teams and staff know and fulfill their responsibility to the deadlines
• Prepare proposals and grant applications in English for various audiences including institutional and corporates
• Liaise with programme function in Vietnam and the region to translate organizational solutions into proposals
• Research and analyze global trends, donors’ strategies to match with AEA’s strategy to incorporate into proposals and organizational briefing notes
• Understand and use proposal databases as needed

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITERIA

• Preferable English native speaker or fluent English
• Experience working as a consultant for INGOs
• Good knowledge of community development
• Advanced mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel
• Analytical and comfortable working with databases
• Comfortable working independently, remotely and in a team environment
• Demonstrated experience in writing institutional and private grants, concept notes, research papers
