Save the Children is seeking for an individual/ group of individual/ firm to conduct labor market assessment and opportunity develop career for youth in Lao Cai province. Details as below:

A. Objectives:

1. Check and summary current situation and development trend of occupations/group occupations in local. Lead down list of occupations/group occupations popular in impact areas, include:

  • Rate of employeess participate in occupations/ group occupations, dissagation by age, sex, education
  • Requirements on education, necessary skills, number of months/years of experience in each occupations/group occupations
  • Woking condition, woking enviroments and opportunity to deverlop career
  • Average income for a month/a year and benefit policies of each occupations/group occupations. Development trend of  occupations/group occupations in 5-10 years from pass to now and 5-10 years in the future. Classification and network of agencies and workplaces according to occupations/group occupations in local.
  • Source/channel to access all above information

2. Desire about career of youth in general, include youth in secondary school in Lao Cai province

3. Network school/vocational education institutions in province and near areas are description, ensure comprehensive all information about occupation are trainied, strength, infrastructures, school fee, distant of training, job opportunities, base for career orientation for youth in local

B. Requirement for consultant:

Requirement for consultant:

  • Master degree (or higher) related to: business management, marketing, project management for youth career guidance or equivalent
  • Over 7 years experience work in field/project management related to market, employment, value chain; including directly conducting market research/surveys and conducted at least 02 surveys on the labor market. Prioritize consultants with experience in surveying career trends of students in secondary, high school in local
  • At least 2 years experience in lead, coordinate, mornitor, implement qualitative and quantitative research methods (developing, collection, analysis and reporting, have skill in monitor data collection process). Prioritize consultants with experience in work or study with youth in secondary/high school ages.
  • Understanding of political, cultural, education and social context in Vietnam, specially Lao Cai province- local conduct data collection
  • Having experience using sofwares to colletion, quantitative & qualitative data analysis, ex: KOBO, ODK, Microsoft Form, SPSS, STATA, NVivo/Atlat-TI, v.v...

Beside, for consulting firm, requirement for lead of team:

  • Having education and experience as individual consultant
  • Having Team work skill, coordinate work in team, monitor work quality of team member and decision making.
  • Representaion for team, work direct with SC during implementing constract.

Priority:

  • Having experienced in working with local partners, especially partners in the education sector at district and provincial levels in Mount North area
  • Having experience in working with international NGO, especially in education projects
  • Having good report writing and information analysis skills.
  • Having leader skill, coordinate in a team, skill work with team member and work alone
