Vacancy: Construction Consultant

Main Objectives:

The individual consultant will conduct the monitoring of implementation of construction works in schools to ensure that construction work undertaken for the project will be implemented with high quality and on time by regularly visiting and by distance checking (by photo and phone call). The consultant will work closely with the construction companies, local community and school to provide weekly updates for SC project staff on construction implementation progress and any problem/challenge related to construction as well as proposed solutions to address these challenges.

Consultant’s Qualifications

This consultancy will require the services of individual consultant with background in architecture or civil engineering and experience in procurement process of construction.

Essentials

  • A registered Engineer/Architect with at least 5 years’ experience providing consultancy services in design, specification, construction project management and construction procurement activities
  • Previous experience in directing construction projects from concept through to construction phase
  • Relevant experience relative to implementation of construction quality against National standards or International best practice, whichever takes precedence
  • Familiarity with Government/Ministry (local and National) procedures and standards in Vietnam
  • Strong organization and management skills required
  • Proven communication and writing skills, including relevant reports in both English and Vietnamese

Desirables

  • Experience in working with NGO/Donor organizations

  • Financial proposal containing consultant daily rate and other cost (Actual per diem, transportation and accommodation costs will be paid by SC according to cost norm)
  • CV of the consultant and proof of professional registration including for members of the team
  • Sample report of previous consultancy work
