Communications Specialist

Chemonics International, a Washington D.C.-based international development firm, seeks experienced communications specialists for the upcoming USAID funded Vietnam Clean Energy Program. Based in Hanoi, this 5-year program will support clean energy development in Vietnam as a key part of comprehensive efforts to promote low carbon economic development. The program will support the Government of Vietnam for the design of its Low Emission Development Strategy and support increased use of renewable energy technologies and energy efficient practices. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities include: developing and implementing robust communications with government, USAID, NGO, and private sector representatives via a variety of communications and outreach platforms;  promoting best practices in communications and providing input to approaches that require improved communication between energy stakeholders; promoting best practices in communications among project counterparts and beneficiaries; and implementing campaigns to raise awareness among project developers about energy efficient practices.

Qualifications: 
- Bachelors degree or equivalent in communications, public relations, literature, or other relevant field
- Minimum 4 years working in public relations or communications for international organizations, large commercial enterprises, or  civil society groups and advocacy campaigns preferably in the field of energy
- Proven ability to communicate clear messages and goals to a variety of audiences, including community members, stakeholders, and multi-cultural audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
- Experience engaging effectively with a range of diverse stakeholders
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to manage a diverse range of professional relationships
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Vietnamese
- Prior experience working on USAID-funded projects in a similar position preferred but not required
