Its mission is to improve quality of life of people in Vietnam, especially the marginalized groups, by providing support services to locally initiated not-for-profit organizations, volunteers and donors. POSITION DESCRIPTION

The LIN Center for Community Development is seeking a high caliber candidate for the position of Communications Coordinator. This person is responsible for coordinating LIN communications activities and database management that leverage the linkages between the philanthropists community and locally based not-for-profit organizations, ensuring a positive profile for the organization, while support LIN activities toward building strong communities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary roles and responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include:

  • Communications Coordination – Work with supervisor and management team to develop, manage and execute communications strategy. The activities include but are not limited to:
    • Communicate results and support press relations (e.g., meetings/interviews with press, blogs);
    • Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities;
    • Implement a PR and social media plan to support all LIN activities
    • Coordinate with LIN staff to update Facebook status and upload event info and photos;
    • Responsible for LIN’s bi-monthly newsletters: drafting articles, designing and disseminating the newsletters to LIN network
    • Coordinate with LIN team and volunteers to deliver key annual communications campaigns for LIN’s programs (Narrow the Gap, Community Partnership Initiative), and fundraising efforts (email fundraising, annual event, etc.)
    • Along with the LIN management team, attend meetings with prospective clients to promote “LIN, Where are we going?” program and other LIN services activities.
    • Prepare and update marketing materials for “LIN, Where are we going?” program
  • Websites administration and management – Manage all websites developed by LIN
    • Ensure the LIN website (www.linvn.org) is up to date and has required functionality.
    • Administer two currently active websites www.philoinhuan.org and www.ongxanh.org
    • Work with LIN team and supplier for the development of a renewed www.philoinhuan.org, which integrates www.ongxanh.org and other new functions
    • Manage the renewed website www.philoinhuan.org when is launched (estimated Q2-2017), communicating and working closely with end-users (including local NPOs, volunteers and donors) to ensure active engagement on the site
  • Database Management – Ensure the update and maintenance of LIN’s database
    • Regularly update contacts of donors and prospect donors (from own contacts or the ED’s contacts) into CiviCRM system.
    • Coordinate, monitor and support LIN team to ensure proper updates of CiviCRM system, as well as proper backup of organizational database.
  • Event Coordination – Work with the LIN team for the execution of “LIN, Where are we going?” and other special events as part of fundraising efforts for LIN.
    • “LIN, Where are we going?” events:

               - Meet with clients to plan for events
               - Work with NPO Services to contact eligible NPOs to enlist them in the event
               - Support and follow-up with NPOs participating in event.
               - Coordinate with clients to prepare materials for event.
               - Prepare short reports on each event (outputs, outcomes, NPO/participant feedback).

    • Other donors related events:

               - Provide administrative and logistical support for donors related events: including networking and capacity building workshops, information sessions, fundraising.
               - Evaluate event results through satisfaction surveys, follow-up interviews, etc. for reporting purposes and improvements for future events.

  • Partnership Coordination – Network, establish and maintain a solid relationship with prospective donors, LIN clients, consultants, external partners and/or other stakeholders.

In addition, the Communications Coordinator will have administrative duties including the following:

  • Translate documents and/or supervise translation by staff and/or volunteers.
  • Maintain electronic files, clear hardcopy records and timely submission of reports on project work and expenditures.
  • Closely monitor the assigned budget;
  • Maintain clear records and submit reports on project work and expenditures to supervisor, as necessary.
  • And other ad-hoc tasks related to LIN’s strategy and action plan assigned by the supervisor or ED.

REQUIREMENTS

Education: University degree in social sciences.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 year related experience in business development, sales, marketing or customer service, especially in the business sector
  • Public relations and/or project coordination experience (desired)
  • Familiarity with community development, CSR, NPOs and related issues (desired)
  • Experience writing articles and/or marketing materials.
  • Familiar with CiviCRM, MyEmma (or similar database and email marketing systems)

Skills:

  • Must be highly organized and able to plan work without much supervision
  • Ability to multitask and perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral) in Vietnamese and English
  • Ability to network and communicate effectively with various audiences including senior level professionals, heads of companies/organizations and potentially high-profile individuals
  • Independent thinker with strong ability to analyze and solve problem
  • Good computer skills and Web 2.0 savvy
  • Ability to use design software (desired)
