Communications Consultant

USAID/Health Policy Initiative Vietnam (USAID/HPI) is a five year project which aims to assist the collaborative efforts of the Government of Vietnam, U.S. Government, civil society organizations and other stakeholders to develop and implement evidence-based and best practice-driven laws, policies, plans, and programs for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, and impact mitigation in Vietnam.

Working with and under the direction of the Deputy Chief of Party, the Communications Consultant will perform these tasks: 

- Support USAID/HPI staff in developing and finalizing communications materials for key audiences;
- Support the Communications lead in the finalization of deliverables to the client including work plans, annual, semiannual and final reports among others;
- Proactively participate in the development and execution of communications materials, including success stories, press releases, policy briefs, website content, speeches, project briefs, standard presentations and others in support of project;
- Work on implementing tasks in communications strategy with project working with other component leads as necessary;
- Gather various types of information and documentation, which may include use of camera and video camera;
- Edit the work of others to professional written communication standards and comply with client branding requirements;
- Work with identified staff member to develop and submit content for the USAID website, ensuring the website accurately reflects the project’s recent activities, reports, findings and successes.
- Assist in the organization of and participate in the End of Project Event.

Required skills:

- Proven record in developing written communications materials for international development agencies
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills

- Critical and innovative thinking
- Residing in Ha Noi
- Available immediately
- Understanding of the International Public Health arena and experience in HIV and policy arena a plus
