Vacancy: Climate Change Programme Manager
Based in Hanoi

We are looking for a Vietnamese national for the position of Climate Change Programme Manager to work in our Emergency Team. The successful candidate can be based in Hanoi with travels to project sites.

Main Responsibilities

This position is responsible for management of Save the Children’s climate change portfolio in Vietnam, including consortium management of a major AusAID-funded community-based adaptation project, with an emphasis on maintaining a strong relationship with key donors, implementation partners and other organisations active in climate change adaptation in Vietnam. The position will also aim to strategically position Save the Children to be the leading child-centred climate change adaptation organisation in Vietnam and to grow our climate change portfolio.

Key Competencies:

Essential
• University degree in a related subject, e.g. environment, FSL, community development, etc.
• Minimum 5 years of program management experience
• Experience managing project teams remotely
• Experience of working with local government and partners in a consortium structure
• Experience representing projects to donors and meeting donor requirements
• Proven ability to deliver project outcomes on time and in budget
• Excellent written and spoken English (including proven ability to draft clear donor reports)
• Excellent communication skills in Vietnamese language
• Experience managing large project budgets
• Strong networking skills
• Proven ability to secure project funding
• Commitment to Save the Children’s values

Desirable
• A background in climate change adaptation in Vietnam
• Previous experience in managing consortiums
• Experience working in a management position in an International NGO in Vietnam
