Climate Change Opportunities at Pact

Pact is a leading international non-governmental development organization focusing on achieving results in health, livelihoods and natural resources management/environment. Pact intends to expand its programming in Vietnam to include climate change. To this end, Pact is recruiting for three climate change positions. These positions are contingent upon award of funding.

Position summaries follow:

1. Team Leader/Chief of Party
The Team Leader/Chief of Party will be responsible for managing and providing the technical direction for a donor-funded climate change project(s), both adaptation and mitigation. The Team Leader/Chief of Party will provide technical guidance and support for climate change activities, coordinate with relevant stakeholders including the donor and local partners, as necessary. The Team Leader/Chief of Party will report to the Country Director and will oversee a team of operations staff and technical area managers.

2. Deputy Chief of Party
The Deputy Chief of Party (DCOP) is responsible for assisting with the overall coordination and management donor-funded climate change project(s), both adaptation and mitigation. The DCOP is responsible for helping the Chief of Party (COP) to meet the project’s technical objectives, manage financial resources, manage program staff, manage partnering agreements, maintain good working relationships with host government officials and local partners, manage donor reporting and ensure a high-quality delivery of services. The DCOP will report to the Chief of Party.

3. Field Technical Advisor, Climate Change
The Climate Change Field Technical Advisor will provide leadership in designing and implementing technical programs and input to donor-funded climate change projects, both adaptation and mitigation. The TA will also ensure Pact and its implementing partners and grantees are current with and applying climate change best practices and approaches, in accordance with program objectives. S/he will oversee and provide technical assistance and climate change capacity strengthening services to internal staff, external local organizations and government and community leaders.  Responsibilities will include a range of program development, monitoring, staff mentoring, M&E and reporting functions. The Technical Advisor may supervise and /or guide one or more program officers.
