Education for Nature-Vietnam (ENV) was established in 2000 as Vietnam’s first non-governmental organization focused on conservation of nature and the environment. Description of position

ENV is looking for an excellent candidate with a combination of experience and skills critical thinking, and an attention for detail that will strengthen our efforts to combat illegal wildlife trade on the frontlines of wildlife protection.

The Bear Program Officer is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing ENV’s public awareness campaigns related to bear in close cooperation with other ENV programs. The officer reports to the Communication and Public Awareness Manager

Main Responsibilities

- Design and develop activities for all bear campaigns
- Organize meetings, surveys, and other public events for all bear related issues
- Coordinate campaign development and activities closely with all relevant departments within ENV related to bear
- Communicate regularly with the direct manager and the ENV management team on developing ideas, progress, results, and obstacles relating to your work.
- Produce reports on activities conducted
- Complete other duties and assignments as specified by ENV managers

Qualifications

- Vietnamese citizen
- College degree required
- Critical thinking and taking initiative skills required
- Excellent survey and investigation skills
- Excellent management & communications skills
- Strong Vietnamese writing skills
- Good verbal and written English
- Computer literacy: Word, Excel, Internet
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and pay close attention to details
- Good knowledge of commonly traded wildlife identification is a plus
