INVITATION - WORKSHOP ON CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS

USAID has recently launched the Partner Capacity Development (PCD) Program to build institutional capacity of Vietnamese agencies, organizations and individuals in a wide range of issues that USAID is working on, including economic growth and inclusion, private sector partnerships and innovation, HIV/AIDS, climate change and disaster risk reduction, disability and vulnerable populations, avian and pandemic influenza, education, and environmental remediation.

The implementer of this program is the Institute of International Education (IIE), a U.S. non-governmental organization. IIE has been working in Vietnam for more than two decades to implement scholarship, training and capacity building programs.

To introduce PCD program and identify key interventions, training needs and interested organizations that PCD can work with to support the capacity development, we would like to invite interested Vietnamese organizations (non-governmental organizations, associations, civil society organizations, community based organizations, institutions, agencies, etc.) who are working in the areas of economic growth and inclusion, private sector partnerships and innovation, climate change and disaster risk reduction, avian and pandemic influenza, education, and environmental remediation to attend to PCD outreach workshop.

Time: 8.30 – 12:00, January 8, 2015
Venue: Hanoi Club, 76 Yen Phu street, Tay Ho district, Hanoi

The workshop will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of the PCD program;
  • Discussion on disadvantages/ difficulties that Vietnamese civil society organizations might be encountered and capacity building solutions;
  • Conduct rapid capacity building assessment of organizational and individual staff and identify appropriate capacity building methodologies;
  • Plan for capacity building activities at civil Vietnamese society non-government organizations in 2015 and roadmap for coming years.
