Founded in the United Kingdom in 1972, ActionAid is an international development agency whose aim is to fight poverty worldwide, helping the poorest and most excluded people in 47 countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas in securing their rights and eradicating poverty.
In Vietnam, ActionAid operates in over 20 provinces in mountainous and remote regions, including urban areas of Ho Chi Minh City since 1989 in the fields of education, women’s rights, HIV/AIDS, governance and food rights.
ActionAid Vietnam (AAV) is seeking to recruit well-qualified and experienced Vietnamese citizens for following positions:
1. WOMEN’S RIGHTS THEME OFFICER:
Contract type: Open-ended contract, based in Hanoi with frequent travels to the field.
Requirements:
- University degree on social science, economics or development studies
- Knowledge about gender, women’s rights issues
- Minimum 3 years work experience in relevant field
- INGO work experience relating to Right Based Approach is preferable
- Expertise on participatory methodologies
- Good report writing, facilitation and training skills
- Good spoken and written English skills
- Ability to work independently or as a part of a team
1. WOMEN’S RIGHTS SUPPORT OFFICER:
Contract type: fixed term contract until 31 Dec 2010, based in Hanoi with frequent travels to the field.
Requirements:
- University degree in social science or relevant field
- At least 1 year relevant working experience
- Experience with development projects and/or INGOs would be an advantage
- Sound understanding on participatory
- Report writing skills
- Good English-Vietnamese and vice-versa interpretation and translation skills
- Supportive and detail focus
