Tourism Team Leader

SNV Vietnam is preparing for the bid with EU tourism project and is seeking expressions of interest for a top qualified international consultant for the position of team leader/senior tourism planning & development specialist for the upcoming Environmentally and Socially Responsible Tourism Capacity Development Programme (European Commission).
Duty Station: Hanoi
Start Date: January 2011
Contract Period: 5 years    

Selection Criteria
- An advanced university degree in tourism or a related discipline
- More than 10 years professional experience in the tourism sector
- Thorough knowledge of the international tourism sector development and planning and a good understanding of product development, marketing, research and HRD issues
- Experience in pubic private sector partnerships and establishing tourism organisations
- Proven track record of supporting national tourism organisations in the implementation of donor funded activities and capacity development
- Previous experience with EU-funded projects preferred
- Familiar with working conditions in developing countries and prior working experience in Southeast Asia, especially in Viet Nam
- An excellent command of both, oral and written English
- A successful track record as a team leader and managing large project teams
