The third TOT course on climate change

From 15 to 19 March, 2010, the third TOT course on “Climate change adaptation” was held in Hanoi for staff of non-governmental organizations in Vietnam. These participants did attend the two previous courses on active training skills and climate change mitigation held on December, 2009 and January, 2010, respectively.
At ths course, topics on climate change adaptation were discussed among trainers and trainees. Other topics on integrating environmental and climate change factors into land use planning and sustainable development plan, as well as community based climate change adaptation were paid particular attention to.
Besides, experts from non-governmental organizations such as SRD, CARE and Oxfam and several research agencies, for example, National Institute for Science, Technology Policy and Strategy Studies (NISTPASS) attended in the training course and shared their organization’s experience in the issues related to climate change including assessment of climate change and GIS (Geographic Information System) tool.
Upon the course, trainees were provided with certificates testifying that they completed three TOT courses. In the time to come, potential trainers will attend training courses on climate change funded by the project for NGOs’ staff as the co-facilitators.
