Technical Specialist - Monitoring

Alive & Thrive, a multi-year initiative (2009-2013) aimed at improving the nutritional status of infants and young children, is led by the Academy for Educational Development and in Viet Nam is being implemented through a joint partnership with Save the Children, GMMB, the International Food Policy Research Institute & the University of California, Davis. Alive & Thrive is actively recruiting candidates for the positions outlined below.
Demonstrated experience in effective interactions in a multicultural setting with a variety of stakeholders, including government and civil society actors, willingness to travel extensively and fluency in Vietnamese and English is a requirement for all positions. Salaries for all positions are commensurate with experience. As different Alive & Thrive partners will recruit specific positions, the responsible organization is mentioned in parenthesis along with the position.
1. Technical Specialist - Monitoring (Contracting Organization: Academy for Educational Development)
Provide vision, technical leadership, management and coordination to develop and implement an integrated monitoring system for A&T activities at all levels. Develop & maintain partnerships with key stakeholders at national & provincial levels. Provide technical support to enable strengthening of current management information systems with a focus on infant & young child feeding (IYCF) indicators. Ensure collection of high quality data and work with team members to develop & disseminate an evidence base for IYCF practices in Viet Nam.

Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree or equivalent in health, nutrition or related field or sufficient experience in management information systems development
- 5-7 years experience in developing & supporting management information systems, preferably in the health sector, at least 3-5 years experience in working in Viet Nam
2. Program support officer on Finance and Grants (Contracting Organization: Save the Children)
In order to provide qualified project services, A&T plan to recruit one Program Support Officer on financial and grants aspects. The position will work in the A&T team and provide day to day support, keeping track of the project plan and activities, following the project tasks. S/he will ensure that the project implementation follow the schedule with highest quality. In collaboration with and under supervision of the A&T Manager and Finance Manager, to ensure that the financial policies and procedures, control and system are followed/ implemented properly in accordance with Save the Children, donor regulations and government laws as well. Provide the support to Budget holders to enable them to manage the budget effectively.

Required Qualifications
- University degree – Finance and Accounting or related fields.
- 3 years experience for an NGO or a foreign company
- Good knowledge in financial procedures and accounting.
