Starting gross monthly salary range:  $1,077- $1,345 (depending on experience) plus competitive benefits (paid in VND)

PATH seeks a Technical Officer to implement and monitor all technical aspects of the 3 year project Enhancing influenza vaccine development in Vietnam. The overall goal of the project is to build regionally based independent and sustainable influenza vaccine production capacity in Vietnam.
The Technical Officer will work closely with senior international and national PATH staff, country collaborators (Ministry of Health, vaccine manufacturers and other related agencies) in implementation of project activities.

Duties and responsibilities
- Manage local partner relationships and vaccine development activities. 
- Provide support to the local partners in upstream influenza vaccine process development.
- Provide support to local partners in vaccine formulation development activities and the design of stability studies and implementation of these activities.
- Participate in interpretation of scientific data and conclusions from vaccine development projects.
- Assist in preparation and contribution to publications, reports, and regulatory documents and dossiers. 
- Support in analyzing of potential influenza vaccine technologies and assessing candidates against criteria aligned with strategic plan and portfolio objectives.
- Organize national training workshop for scientific/regulatory development

Required Experience & Skills
- Master Degree or PhD in biomedical sciences.
- 5+ years experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in process and formulation development for biologics.
- Working knowledge of national and international regulatory standards for human vaccine development, desired.
- Demonstrated organizational ability
- Excellent written and spoken Vietnamese and English.
- Availability to travel within Vietnam up to 40 percent per year.
- Experience working with private sector a plus
- Experience managing US Government funded projects a plus
