Secretary cum Translator/Interpreter

ALD is a development project jointly funded by the government of Vietnam (MARD) and the Government of Switzerland (SDC). The Project is implemented by Agronomes & Vétérinaires sans frontières (AVSF) and the National Institute of Animal Husbandry (NIAH), in collaboration with services and authorities of 4 districts in three provinces: Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Son La.

The main goal of PALD project is to increase farmers’ incomes by strengthening appropriate, sustainable and replicable livestock services and livestock production systems. The project consists of four key components: 1) Component 1(C1): To improve quality and efficiency of livestock planning and service provision at district and commune levels; 2) Component 2 (C2): To improve farmers’ income through pig production; 3) Component 3 (C3): To improve farmers’ income through poultry production and 4) Component 4 (C4): To contribute to improved policy formulation.

The project is now looking for recruiting a secretary cum translator/interpreter, reporting to the Chief Technical Advisor with one-year full-time contract starting as soon as possible. The position will be based in Hanoi with frequent travel to project sites.

Key responsibilities
- Provide secretarial/administration support
- Help to prepare minutes, note taking, reports, and routines correspondences;
- Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Maintain filing system in server and hard copy files.
- Provide oral translation at meetings, training sessions, workshops and conferences in both languages
- Liaison with local partners for arrangement of field trip, training, workshops, conferences, meetings, handouts .etc
- Other tasks as requested by the CTA of PALD project

- University Degree in English Language
- High level of proficiency in translating and interpreting.
- Excellent computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office
- At least 2 years experience in a similar job
- Working experience in ODA / NGO projects are preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team and to take initiative.
- Flexibility in work scheduling and willingness to travel to the field.
- Industrious and dedicated
