TITLE: Research Assistant
REPORTING TO: Office Manager
LOCATION: Hanoi, Vietnam
ASSIGNMENT LENGTH: 1 year with possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Research Assistant will provide research and administrative support to program staff and general office daily operations under direct supervision of the Office Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform a wide variety of research field work preparation tasks i.e, make detailed observations, enter data in Excel format, assist in analyzing data and collect supporting documents or literature from internet and other sources for interpreting results
- Provide assistance in reviewing documents for accuracy as well as writing reports, summaries, protocols and preparing PowerPoint presentations
- Assist in the process of building collaboration with other partner institutions, i.e, maintain and update contact lists of implementing and research partners, other key stakeholders and consultants, keep confidentiality of files on projects
- Contribute to the overall research process of preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses by identifying current scientific literature as assigned by the Program staff
- Coordinate with partners on program related activities
- Coordinate with printing companies for project-related documents and reports and check for accuracy
- Provide logistical support to staff in planning and organizing conferences, workshops and meetings and participate in relevant meetings
- Prepare correspondence, letters, meeting minutes and other communication as appropriate
- Organize hard copy and electronic filing systems and retrieve files in a speed that is less than an hour
- Provide English and Vietnamese interpretation/translation
- Support staff in project-based work as assigned
Contribute to the overall front-desk (reception) administration and logistics:
1. Answer telephones, transfer to appropriate staff member, record messages
2. Meet and greet guests and visitors
3. Perform general clerical duties to include but not limited to: photocopying, faxing, mailing
4. Arrange travel for staff and consultants
5. Provide support to management-related processes

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3 year research and administrative support experience is preferred
- College graduate  
- Very good in English and Vietnamese
- Excellent organizational skills (oral and written) and the ability to excel at details, multi-tasking and working under pressure  
- Must have some experience and skills to use Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook
