Project Officer

CARE in Vietnam is looking for an experienced and qualified Vietnamese for an emergency project in Quang Nam.

Position information:

Positions: Project Officer
Start working: Immediately
Contract: One year contract with high potential for extension
Base in: Quang Nam with travel to project sites as required

Summary of Job:
The Project Officer Construction is responsible to assist the Project Manager to implement and coordinate construction projects in the ERR Project in Quang Nam province. These activities will be done in close cooperation with partners, end users (beneficiaries), contractors and sub-contractors.
The Project Officer will work in two districts, Nui Thanh and Que Son district and is responsible for all activities relevant to construction works in those districts, such as analyzing design, analyzing calculation and supervision of the construction of the projects on behalf of CARE Vietnam. S/He is encouraged to cooperate with local partners to ensure that activities are well implemented with the given criteria and budget.
The PO Construction will support the PM in monitoring and supervising construction works (Civil projects) of contractor’s activities throughout project cycle.

Selection Criteria:
- Bachelors degree in civil engineering, preferably housing and water and sanitation systems
- Experience of more than 1 year of real activities at field and on site.
- Good knowledge of Cost Calculation of construction projects
- Computer skills: E-mail, AutoCAD, Ms Office (Excel & Word)
- Active and supportive team worker as well as being able to work independently
- Can work under pressure
- Enthusiastic and good manner in works
- Willing to travel to remote areas
- Basic communication skills in English are an advantage
- Available on short notice
