Programme Officer

The German Development Service DED is part of the German Development Cooperation with Vietnam. Aside from the assignment of European professionals to partner organizations, DED participates in the weltwärts volunteer program, seconding young German volunteers to Vietnamese institutions.

They are looking for a qualified and experienced Vietnamese for the position of Program Officer for the weltwärts volunteer program from July 16, 2010

Your duties:
- Organization of the volunteer program in all phases: visa matters, entry and departure of volunteers, accommodation, participation in workshops, assistance in daily activities and emergencies,
- Communication, including translation/interpretation (Vietnamese/German/English),  with partner organizations, landlords and other contacts, assistance in conflict resolution,
- Organization of and participation in business travel of the program manager and tutors, including business trips on your own,
- Acquisition of new volunteer placements and compilation of German documents for approval in Germany.

They expect:
- A  Vietnamese national, fluent in written and spoken German and English, having lived in a German speaking country,
- Interest in intercultural exchange and in a program for young people from Germany,
- Solid working experience, including working with foreigners,
- Friendly, helpful and team working character,
- Flexibility, resilience and readiness for business travel throughout Vietnam,
- Mature personality over 28 years.
