Program Coordinator

TREAT Asia (www.treatasia.org) is a program of amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, a US-based, non-profit organization dedicated to support HIV research, treatment, prevention, and education.  TREAT Asia works to ensure the safe and effective delivery of HIV/AIDS treatment in the Asia region through its research, community, and education programs. We are seeking a suitably qualified individual to join their Bangkok office in the following position:

Program Coordinator, MSM Program

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, develop, implement, and manage the activities of the Purple Sky Network (PSN) Regional Coordination Secretariat (RCS) for HIV Prevention and Care Interventions for MSM in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (i.e., Cambodia, Guangxi, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Yunnan).  Work with the national MSM technical working groups, the Regional Technical Board (RTB), and other TREAT Asia/amfAR staff to initiate, facilitate, and monitor the groups’ progress in achieving their respective two-year vision and work-plans for HIV prevention and care intervention for MSM.

- Support the collaborative regional network for HIV prevention and care of MSM in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region, providing technical assistance where needed.
- Manage the daily operational and administrative duties of the Secretariat.
- Lead the organization, scheduling, and facilitation of meetings and communications with PSN members and stakeholders.
- Represent the PSN at national, regional, and global fora, as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 1 year of experience in HIV/AIDS prevention and care of MSM in the Greater Mekong Sub-Region. 
- Familiarity with MSM related issues, outreach, or services. 
- Strong program management skills and ability to work independently, coordinate events, and relate to different people and organizations.
- Proven English communication and public speaking skills are required, and fluency in at least one Asian language. 
- Residence in Bangkok and significant regional travel.  Knowledge of public health and HIV/AIDS policy issues, and exposure to MSM-related outreach and services provision are preferred.
