Construction Consultant

Catholic Relief Services/Vietnam (CRS) is providing support to the people affected by Ketsana typhoon in Binh Dinh and Quang Ngai provinces to rebuild the local kindergartens.

They are looking for a Construction Consultant to work in the two provinces for approximately 40 days within 4 months starting from early January 2010. The job is based in Ha Noi with frequent travel to the construction sites in Duy Xuyen and Thang Binh districts of Quang Nam province and Phu Cat and Phu My districts of Binh Dinh province.

Main job description:
- Supervise all the construction work for building 08 kindergartens.
- Ensure quantity and quality of the construction according to the design
- Provide monthly reports to CRS as well as situation reports on the issues which emerge during the construction work.
- Instruct local people to assist the monitoring and help the construction teams to follow the designs.
- Cooperate with the local project manager to ensure smooth implementation of the project.

Requirements:
- University degree on civil engineering
- At least 5 years experience in supervising construction works
- Good report writing skill.
- Good communication in English
- Willing to travel to rural areas
