CDM Project Consultant

POSITION DESCRIPTION
CDM Project Consultant, Working in Hanoi, full time, competitive salary.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the overall supervision of the CDM Project Manager, the CDM Project Consultant will primarily drive and achieve the objective of successful submission of CDM project documents for final registration by the CDM Executive Board of the Kyoto Protocol. In particular the CDM Project Consultant will:
- Assess CDM potential of the originated projects
- Write the PDD and monitor its correct and timely implementation along the whole project cycle
- Collect and provide accurate and complete data/documents needed for the development of the PDD, its validation by the DOE and registration by the EB.
- Study and monitor CDM EB methodologies and secure their correct application within the PDD
- Travel to the project sites for validation, verification and as required otherwise by the PDD preparation and implementation
- Liaise with the government entities for PDD submission and approval
- Liaise with Designated Operational Entities for validation, verification and other related matters
- Perform other related duties as required.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree or Higher Degree in Environmental Engineering,
- Environmental Economics or other technically related disciplines.
- Open minded and willing to 'learn by doing'
- One to three year experience in CDM project development and related sectors.
- Excellent working knowledge of Vietnamese and English.
- Excellent computer skills, with particular relevance to Word, Excel and Power Point.
- Willing to travel

SELECTION CRITERIA
Relevance of work experience.
- Extent of study, research and work experience abroad.
- Extent of knowledge of UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol regulatory frameworks.
- Extent of knowledge of the Clean Development Mechanism process.
- Extent of knowledge, experience and understanding of national/international approaches and practices to GHG emission reduction and climate change mitigation.
- Extent of experience in organizing and coordinating meetings/missions and in preparing/editing written reports in English.
- Demonstrated ability of working independently with minimum supervision in a fast paced environment.
- Demonstrated capacity of working with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
