Call for Propose: Are You Interested in Creating Social and Environmental Change in Vietnam?

The Global Compact Network Vietnam (GCNV) is an alliance of companies, government, trade unions, United Nations and non-governmental organisations. The GCNV exists to promote the principles of the United Nations Global Compact (www.unglobalcompact.org) through which it aims to improve the social and environmental conditions of Vietnam workers, their communities and the performance of the companies they work for.  The GCNV was launched in 2007 by VCCI in partnership with the UNDP.
The GCNV is currently seeking to support innovative partnership projects which aim at improving social and environmental conditions in Vietnam.
If you are a company, a national or international Non- governmental organization (NGO), development organization (including UN bodies), or academic organization you may be eligible to receive funding from the GCNV-Partnership Scheme (GCNV-PS).
The GCNV-PS funds focus on providing support in the following areas: Labour, Environment, Anti-corruption, Human rights and related issues such as poverty reduction, child labour, gender, health and social inclusion.
GCNV-PS can make a contribution to up to 90% of project funds, up to the total cost of VND1,000,000,000 (One billion Vietnamese dong). Support will be given to projects which meet GCNV-PS criteria and whose activities are completed by May 2011. Priority will be given to applications received from members of the GCNV.
Proposals will be assessed on a monthly basis by representatives from the GCNV and UNDP. The deadline for submission of proposals will be the 15th of each month, commencing April 2010. The deadline for receiving proposals of GCNV-PS program will be until 15 June 2010.
