Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation established by the Decision 468/TC-LHH dated 27 th May 2002 of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA). The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria
VUSTA is currently managing a component under the “Global Fund to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria” in Viet Nam, phase 2018 – 2020. In which, the Institute for Social Development Studies (ISDS) is responsible for the implementation of the project in 05 cities/ provinces namely Hanoi, Hai Duong, Nam Dinh, Vinh Phuc, and Thai Nguyen; and has established a Global Fund Project department in the institute for this activity.

Despite abortion being legally available in Vietnam, female sex workers face significant barriers to accessing services due to the illegality of sex work, stigma, discrimination by service providers, and lack of information. Funded by Grand Challenges Canada, Center for Promotion of Advancement of Society (CPAS) will be developing and implementing a mHealth intervention, entitled: ‘Mobile Connect’, to address unsafe abortion among female sex workers in Vietnam.
