SOS Children’s Villages Vietnam is the national chapter of SOS Children Villages which is an independent non-governmental organization working on alternative care of children who have lost parental care or are on the verge of losing the same. It is currently operational in 138 countries worldwide including 14 countries in Asia Region. We build families for children in need; we help them shape their own future; and we share in the development of their communities regardless of their ethnic roots, nationality and religion.

SOS Children's Villages Vietnam is currently seeking candidature from qualified, competitive and dynamic candidates to fill the following position:

Position Summary

In order to diversify our institutional funding portfolio, we are seeking for our team in the National Office in Hanoi & HCM, a committed Coordinator-Institutional Partnership Development (IPD). S(h)e will work closely with the FDC Director and the Programme Team in the National office and the Regional IPD Advisor to mobilize institutional funding for SOS CV Vietnam.

Key Responsibilities:

(1)   Partnership Development and Networking

  • Scope institutional donors, establish and maintain regular contact with prospective donors by organizing donor roundtables, face to face meetings, attending donor forums etc
  • Develop partnerships and consortiums with other like-minded organizations for purposes of bidding for large donor projects.
  • Represent SOS CV Vietnam in sector level meetings (development and humanitarian/emergency) and other networking forums and use this to develop funding partnerships
  • Participate in regional IPD networking and training forums.

(2)   Fundraising and Donor Relationship Management

  • Identify institutional partnership opportunities at the national local level (from bilateral, multilateral, international organizations and embassies and foundations)
  • Monitor implementation of IPD-strategy.
  • Coordinate with the programme team to conduct assessments, feasibility studies, project formulation workshops that inform programme design.
  • Coordinate and write concept notes/project proposals and be the link between programme, finance and submit this to potential institutional donors.
  • Conduct project monitoring visits.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with donors by ensuring regular communication, knowledge exchange, effective and timely reporting.
  • Prepare and submit IPD monthly updates and quarterly reports to the national and regional offices.
  • Liaise with the Regional office-Asia (IPD function) for the development of support papers and tools
  • Support implementation and roll out the global IPD training curriculum in SOS CV Vietnam.
  • Implement any and all works as assigned by the Supervisor

(3)   Donor Contract Management

  • Responsible for Donor Contract Management (DCM) of institutional grants, including contract preparation, development of consortium agreements, teaming agreements, record maintenance (electronic and paper), compliance with donor requirements, submission of reports.
  • Establish a close working relationship with the Finance Department and provide advice to ensure synergy in donor budgeting, contract management and reporting.

(4) Qualifications, Experience and Skills

  • A holder of a Bachelor’s degree in development/social sciences (Sociology, Development studies, International Relations or related field).  A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
  • A thorough understanding of program design and development especially in the sectors of Child Rights, Child Protection, Education, Livelihoods, Gender etc.
  • 5-7 years of extensive experience in planning, securing and managing funds from institutional donors as well as a thorough understanding of development programming.
  • Excellent skills in proposal and report writing
  • Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills with the ability to represent SOS CV Vietnam in donor forums, develop partnerships with other NGOs
  • Adept in Project Cycle Management and the use of Logical Framework Approach (LFA)
  • Ability to work under pressure and to plan and work systematically towards deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills.
