Assistant-Webmaster (AW)
The Greater Mekong Communicable Diseases Control Project is seeking a motivated and competent person to help its Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) maintain its GMS CDC website. The RCU has numerous documents that need to be added to its website through a content management system. The job is contract-based, approx. for 7 hours per week, and paid 120-150US$ a month (pending on experience and performance). After an in-depth briefing by the Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) in Hanoi, the incumbent may chose to work at the RCU or from home (provided the incumbent disposes of a computer and a proper Internet connection); however he/she will need to meet at least once a week at the RCU for a verbal report of activities and expose difficulties encountered. The AW will work under the close supervision of the Regional Coordinator and the Web Coordinator of the project.
Duties includes:
1. Renaming files with meaningful file names (instructions will be provided).
2. Uploading files to a content management system (instructions will be provided).
3. Creating documents in the content management system by:
a. Giving each document a meaningful title.
b. Assigning each document an appropriate document category (instructions will be provided).
c. Inputting appropriate keyword(s) for each document.
Note that the success of task completion depends on the applicant's ability to understand the content of each document involved.
Qualifications required:
- Experience in WWW site administration.
- Public health background, minimum at Bachelor’s level, and preferably in Communicable Diseases Control.
- Good English (reading and writing).
- Advanced technical aptitude and knowledge of Web technologies;
Assets:
- Knowledge of HTML, as well as content management systems.
Preferred profile:
Preference will be given to motivated
- Student in public health (MPH, MD, etc)
- Civil servants from the Ministry of Health who are likely to provide similar services at the Ministry of Health in the future.
