A Self Development Program for Leaders

Unesco Centre for International Education (UCIE) is pleased to announce that it will again be organising a 3-day training course on Self Managing Leadership (SML) on 12th, 13th, 14th December 2008 in Hanoi. This course will be given by an international trainer in the English language with translation into Vietnamese.

The original SML course was developed by Brian Bacon, founder and president of the Oxford Leadership Academy, a world class global organization working with large organizations in strategic management. Its purpose was to assist managers to cope better with change and improve their leadership qualities by improving their abilities to manage themselves.

E-Courses on Grant Writing/Fundraising

The Grant Proposal Writing & Fundraising Course provides training in effective fundraising methodology. The course focuses on the importance of grant writing; learning the "do's and don'ts" of a convincing proposal and gaining persuasive writing tips; how to be transparent and accountable to funders; resources for finding grants; acquiring expertise about effective fundraising strategies; and creating a grant writing proposal to submit after the course ends.

Students who complete the course, exercises, and final project plan receive a certificate and are eligible to apply for a GYCA Small Grant for $1500 to implement the project

Project Report Writing

Targets participants are programme managers, project officers, members
of project management units, project/program assistants and partners.

After completing the training course, participants will be able to:
- Use analytical tools to analyse project results and
progress and to identify factors that contribute to the project results;
- Draw accurate conclusions and make feasible recommendations
in order to improve the project implementation, based on analysis of
project results and contributing factors;
- Involve stakeholders in analyzing monitoring data, ensuring the validity of the findings;

Energy For Sustainable Development Online Course

The IIIEE is delivering a new session of an online course in the field of Energy for Sustainable Development (E4SD). The E4SD initiative is collaboratively run by the IIIEE, UNDP, UNEP, and the Global Network on Energy for Sustainable Development (GNESD) and its central aim is to provide deeper knowledge of energy's relationship to sustainable development in the developing world.
The next course session is scheduled from 26 January - 8 March 2009, and the application deadline for this session is 15 December 2008.
