The USAID Green Annamites (GA) Project (the Project) is a $24 million project funded by the United States Agency for International Development (“USAID”) and implemented by ECODIT LLC (“ECODIT”) in partnership with provincial governments in Quang Nam and Thua Thien Hue provinces. The objective of the Project is to support Vietnam’s transition to a climate-smart, low emission, and resilient economy that protects people, landscapes, and biodiversity in Vietnam’s priority forested provinces. The Project’s activities are implemented in 3 thematic areas: (1) Low emissions land use practices, (2) Strengthening biodiversity conservation, and (3) Increased resilience to climate change amongst vulnerable rural communities.
The purpose of this Request for Applications (RFA) is to solicit grant applications for funding available through the USAID Green Annamites Project. ECODIT is seeking applications from qualified Vietnamese, US or international, non-profit or for-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and community-based organizations (CBOs) to support community-based initiatives for subsistence or food security as well as small productive initiatives or businesses that need to be incubated for one year or less, with a possible potential to be scalable and profitable. Small grants will help applicants overcome any difficulties they are facing and provide them with the financing support they need to successfully implement their proposed activities/initiatives. Targeted grants recipients may have the potential to scale up their activities to become potential candidates under the Annual Progress Statement (APS), a larger financing scheme of the Activity Fund that would enable them to sustain their businesses while contribute to achieving the Project’s results and goals.
