A large amount of unexploded ordnance (UXO) remain in areas which used to be battlefields during the war against Chinese invaders in Vietnam’s northern region for a decade beginning in 1979, according to the news agency VTC. The war has gone for decades but many bombs and mine are ready to explode and cause danger to people and animals there, the agency has reported. (Vtc.vn July 24)
