Title: Coordinator for the Education Programme

Duty station: Hanoi with frequent visits to programme provinces
About the organisation
The Flemish Association for Development Cooperation and Technical Assistance, Belgium (VVOB) is recruiting an officer for the basic education programme. This programme aims to improve the quality education in 5 provinces of North and Central Vietnam (Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Nghe An, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai) through an increased use of Active Teaching and Learning (ATL).
Responsibilities:
The Coordinator will report to Country Programme Manager (CPM) and Advisors. He/she will be responsible for the component on the pre-service training for teachers, including the following tasks:
- Develop, implement annual plan, budget, monitoring and evaluation to support ATL change processes of relevant partners in the programme’s provinces
- Organise/ deliver trainings on capacity building for partners’ management and staff
- Identify, follow up strategies of linking pre-service and in-service for teachers
- Engage, support, organise research on relevant issues of the programme
- Coordinate activities with other programme components to ensure the overall objective of the programme
- Promote active networking with internal and external stakeholders
- Explore possibilities to and advocate the programme
- Support Organisational Learning (OL) including self-study among team members, exchange with other national and international VVOB’s programmes
- Ensure sound financial management according to the organisation’s rules and regulations
- Other duties as required
Profile:
Education
- Bachelor (or master degree) with at least 7 years working experience for development agencies and projects/programmes
- A study background in social and/or education sciences or development studies is a plus
Essential skills:
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with LOG frame approach
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood and primary education in Vietnam, especially in pre-service, in-service for teachers
- Good ICT skills
- Excellent report writing skills (reports, papers, ...)
- Fluent in English and Vietnamese

- Experience with research

Remuneration and benefits: Salary and package according to EU-UN cost norms 2012 (including social and health benefits)
