The prolonged and complicated COVID-19 pandemic has not only caused a health crisis but also had a great socio-economic impact, including on people's livelihoods, production and business. In particular, this pandemic has had a heavy impact on mental health and living conditions of children and young people. It has increased the likelihood that children of legal working age or younger drop out of school to enter the labour market to earn extra income for their families, increasing the risk the risk of child labour. According to a report by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the pandemic has increased the number of child laborers worldwide by 160 million – an increase of 8.4 million children in just four years. The report also pointed out that COVID-19 has caused poverty to rise, which in turn also leads increase child labour as family incomes and livelihoods decline and parents lose their jobs due to the pandemic.
To identify the needs of children and families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic to design the project’s support activities, the ILO/ENHANCE project is seeking a qualified service provider to carry out a rapid survey to identify the needs of beneficiary children and their families affected by COVID-19 pandemic in the project areas in Ho Chi Minh City (children and households). Based on the identified needs, the project will be able to design appropriate support activities (immediate and long-term) to meet the needs of the beneficiary children and their families.
