Organization and project description: Plan is an international humanitarian, child-centred community development organization without religious, political or government affiliation. Plan Vietnam, in cooperation with the local authorities, is currently implementing projects in 15 provinces and cities in the northern and central regions of the country. Plan Vietnam has a new Country Strategic Plan CSP4 for 2016-2020, which outlines the situation of children, and Plan’s response to these issues in the areas of health, education, livelihoods, child protection, water and environmental sanitation.
The Gender Responsive School Pilot Model Project started on 1st December 2013 and will end on 30th November 2016, in Hanoi/Vietnam. Goal of the project is “Adolescent girls attending 20 schools in Hanoi experience greater protection from gender-based violence and feel respected in school”. Towards this end, approximately 15,000 adolescent girls ages 11 to 18 studying in participating lower and upper secondary schools are aware of gender discrimination and school-related gender-based violence and have the skills and institutional mechanisms essential to prevent, mitigate, and respond to incidents of violence.
