Communication and Business Development Officer
Agriterra supports farmers' organisations in fighting poverty, with advice from experts from the (Dutch) agricultural sector and with finance from the Dutch government. Our opinion is that strong farmers' organisations lead to more democracy, economy growth and a better distribution of income. We focus on economy development and work closely together with the Dutch agribusiness.
Agriterra is organized with a head office in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and has a network of 12 country offices spread over Africa and Asia, employing approximately 170 staff members. In Vietnam, Agriterra was registered as an INGO in 2017 and is currently active in almost 20 provinces all over the country, we are expanding in Mekong river delta.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic national candidate to be aCommunication and Business development officer, based in Ha Noi with travel to the project sites (when required)
Position of Communication and Business Development Officer
Roles and responsibilities
Communication
- Produce or edit Agriterra VN communication products (brochures, left lets, photo, videos, presentations..) targeted to reach different audiences (donors, relevant local stakeholders, Dutch private sector, Dutch embassy..), following Agriterra guidelines
- Provide guidelines and/or support Agriterra cooperative advisors on presentations (style and format) to ensure all activities and results/impact achieved are well captured, described, and published (when relevant)
- Publish and/or update team and project profiles/media releases/blogs/hot topics/success stories using a variety of media.
- Support the design, and maintenance of Agriterra VN Facebook, Link-In..
- Producing regular project updates; documenting and sharing insights and results as needed
- Coordinate with RO and/or HQ on communication topics when required
- Carry out other tasks that may be required by the Country Representative
Business Development
- Assist in Agriterra business development such as participating in business development strategies, scanning and identifying fund acquisition opportunities and potential partners, preparation of concept notes/ project ideas/ proposals
- Ensure active promotion of Agriterra VN towards Dutch government, Dutch embassy, potential donors (USAID, DFAT, EU…) and other external stakeholders/ donors
- Participate in networking events to promote Agriterra VN and get connected with key stakeholders such as Dutch embassy, Dutch private companies, potential donors (USAID, DFAT, EU…) when relevant
Essential qualifications, skills and experience
- Vietnamese national with advanced degree in Communication, Marketing or related fields; in-depth experience and skills can substitute for formal qualification.
- At least 5 years of related experience in international organizations. Experience with international private companies is credit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Vietnamese, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences.
- Proven experience in producing internal and external communication materials;
- Proficiency in content creation tools and software, including graphic design and video editing software.
- Demonstrated report and proposal writing and presentation skills;
- Good knowledge of projects, programs and available donors in Mekong river delta is an asset;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team and engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Contract Duration
The selected candidate will be offered initially for one-year employment contract with two months’ probation time and possibility of extension subject to availability of funds.
