I. Overview
All partners in the response are invited to participate in the 9th bi-annual International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP), held in Bali this August 2009.
Sessions will include a plenary session, symposia, oral session, poster presentations, skills-building workshops, cultural programmes, community forum, HIV positive forum and youth forum.

Objectives of the Community Forum:
- Bring communities together
- Identify and exchange views on key and emerging issues of concern.
- Enable local, regional and international communities to share their experiences, knowledge and skills

There will be four tracks:
- Track A - Empowerment for Prevention & Epidemiology
- Track B - Strengthening Treatment & Care
- Track C - Enabling & empowering environment: tackling social, economic, cultural & religious barriers
- Track D - Leadership & Broadening the Response

II. Participation in the 9th ICAAP

Registration is confirmed once fees are received.

Scholarships will be need-based. They are limited in number and most are partial awards.

Accommodation
Apartment and hotel rooms reserved. Information on rooms, rate and booking terms are available on the ICAAP website.

Services for PLHIV
There will be a PLHIV Lounge at the Congress to provide delegates with a safe, relaxing and service orientated area. It will be open from 8am to 6pm and provide meals, massage rooms, TV lounge and meeting area.

Fees
Registration fee (see http://www.icaap9.org/registration.php?id_pages=36 for fare types and prices) The registration fee for regular delegates include entry to all conference sessions, the Exhibition Hall and poster areas, the opening ceremony, welcome reception, and the closing ceremony. It also includes the conference bag and materials if the registration form and full payment are received before 30 June 2009. Registration on or after 1 July 2009, including on-site registration, do not guarantee a conference bag and materials.

Fees (in USD) are payable by credit card or bank transfer only. Notification of cancellation must be made in writing and sent to the Secretariat. This notification must indicate a bank account to which the refund may be remitted. If the written notification of cancellation is received before 31 March 2009, 50% of the registration fee will be returned. No refunds can be made for cancellations on or after this date. All approved refund will be processed and issued 60 days after the Congress.

Visas
All citizens of Viet Nam may enter Indonesia and stay up to 30 days without a visa.
III. Submitting an abstract:

Four types of abstracts/proposals will be accepted:
Abstracts for Oral Sessions and Poster Sessions (A): suitable for scientific research
Abstracts for Oral Sessions and Poster Sessions (B): suitable for experience
Proposals for Skills Building Workshops
Proposals for Cultural Programs
 Abstracts must be completed and submitted online by 27 March 2009.

The title of the presentation should clearly reflect the information included in the abstract/proposal. Titles should not be more than 100 characters. The body of the abstract/proposal should not exceed 200 words.

Procedure to submit an abstract:
1. Register with the ICAAP 9 site
2. Follow the link for abstract submission
3. Enter information such as the track, keywords, presentation type, first author details and other relevant details
4. All submitted abstracts will go through a blind, peer-review process carried out by an international review panel. Each abstract will be reviewed by no fewer than two reviewers and the final selection of abstracts will be done by members of the Scientific Programme Committee.
