Work Starts on First Private Hospital in Vietnam Central Province

Nhan Tam General Hospital JSC started building a VND600 billion ($29.13 million) private general hospital in Vietnam’s central city of Quang Ngai June 19, the first of its kind in the locality. Covering an area of 1,500 sq.m in Quang Ngai city, the 12-storey facility will have 200 sickbeds, state media reported June 20. Once completed in late 2012, the hospital is expected to better healthcare services for local residents, especially for the disabled. Last June, Quang Ngai International General Hospital JSC also began the construction on Quang Ngai-Cho Ray International General Hospital with a total investment of VND880 billion. The 500-sickbed hospital will be outfitted with modern technology meeting the European standards.  Vietnam now has 13,600 state and private-owned hospitals with 172,500 sickbeds.
