WB to Support Emission Reduction Program in North Central Vietnam

The World Bank (WB)’s Carbon Finance Unit has recently approved a resolution on supporting the Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD) program in the northern central coast of Vietnam. The event marked Vietnam as the first country in Asia and the seventh in the world to join the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility (FCPF) managed by the WB. Speaking at the event, Ha Cong Tuan, deputy minister of Agricultural and Rural Development, said that Vietnam is striving to realize its commitment to coping with climate change, reducing greenhouse emission by 25% by 2030.
