WB Finances $273.6M for Vietnam Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment Project

The People’s Committee in Vietnam’s central province of Ninh Thuan and the World Bank (WB) jointly held a conference on January 12 to launch the Vietnam Coastal Cities Sustainable Environment Project (CCSEP) costing $273.6 million funded by the WB. The five-year project will be carried out in the coastal cities of Dong Hoi (Quang Binh province), Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh province), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa province) and Phan Rang-Thap Cham (Ninh Thuan province). It will expand sanitation infrastructure, improve urban connectivity, compensate site clearance and help with institutional reform, thus boosting the access to environmental hygiene services and efficiency of these services in the targeted coastal cities, expected to benefit over one million local people.
